Do you work outside Oakland?

No. We stay inside Oakland city limits. That keeps our crews close and lets us know one city's permit process well.

Do the rules change by neighborhood?

The City of Oakland's fence rules apply across the city, but the zone of your parcel matters. Most homes are in residential zones; corridors like International Boulevard or Telegraph Avenue include commercial zones with different fence heights. See permits.
