Commercial fencing in Oakland

Security fencing, ornamental steel and gates for storefronts, contractor yards, parking areas, warehouses and multi-unit buildings.

What do we build for businesses?

  • Chain link with top rail, for yards, lots and construction-adjacent sites.
  • Steel picket fencing for storefronts, offices and apartment frontages that need to look good and stay secure.
  • Drive and pedestrian gates, manual or with openers and access control by others.
  • Repairs after vehicle hits or break-ins.

How tall can a commercial fence be in Oakland?

It depends on the zone and how close the fence is to the street or a residential neighbor. As of November 2026, the city's fence permit page summarizes it like this:

  • Commercial zones: up to 8 feet within 10 feet of a public right-of-way or a Residential or Open Space zone, or up to 10 feet with landscape screening and design review. Up to 10 feet elsewhere on the lot.
  • Industrial zones: up to 8 feet within 10 feet of a public right-of-way, or up to 12 feet with screening and design review.
  • Nonresidential uses in residential zones follow the commercial limits.

We check the zoning for the parcel before we quote height.

Can you work around business hours?

Yes. We schedule the work and any temporary fencing so the property stays secure while posts cure and sections go up.
